Technical Problems

If a page will not load

What the two error pages mean, what to try first, and what to include if you report it.

PrepTez shows two different pages when something goes wrong, and they mean different things.

This page does not exist means the address led nowhere — usually a mistyped URL, or a link to something that has moved. It does not mean a chapter is locked. A chapter you cannot read yet says so by name and offers to sign you in.

This page could not be loaded means something failed on our side. It is often temporary, a slow database connection being the common cause, and the Try again button usually works.

That second page shows a short reference code. It identifies the exact failure in our logs without describing it. If the problem keeps happening, quote that code when you report it — it turns “a page broke” into a specific event someone can find.

Before reporting, reload once, because transient failures are the majority. Then check the known issues list on the Help Centre page: if it is already known, it is listed there with any workaround. Note what you were doing and the address you were on.
