Sitting a mock test
One paper is published: 150 questions, four sections, 120 minutes, with negative marking. Answers survive a dropped connection, and the key is withheld until you submit.
One mock paper is live: 150 questions across four sections, 120 minutes, marked the way the real paper is marked, negative marking included. You need to be signed in to sit it.
While you are answering, your answers are held in your browser and sent to the server in batches, so a dropped connection does not lose them. When the connection comes back, anything the server did not confirm is sent again.
Marking a question for review is confirmed individually. If a mark has not been confirmed by the server, the question palette shows it as not saved — it will never tell you something was stored when it was not.
Clearing an answer keeps the question in its place in the ordering rather than removing it, so a late-arriving retry cannot revive an answer you just cleared.
Submitting scores what the server already holds. The submission itself cannot introduce an answer, which means a slow or repeated submit cannot change your paper. If you run out of time or leave without submitting, the server finalises the attempt and you still get a result.
Until you submit, the answer key does not exist as far as your browser is concerned — the database will not return it for an attempt that is still open. After you submit, your answers and the key are shown together.
